If you are interested in enhancing your understanding of watercolour, then learning about colour theory is an important part of layering.
This workshop is designed for those wanting to gain a deeper understanding of colour and the effects it has in watercolour painting. As watercolour is a fluid transparent medium, it’s important to understand colour mixing so you stop creating mud. In this workshop, you will create your own colour wheel to take home, make various colour swatch guides, and learn the difference between warm and cool colours, analogous, primary, and complementary colours. You will discover how and when to use them to bring out the best in your work.
This workshop is perfect for those wanting a little more understanding of watercolour painting or for watercolour artists of all levels who may be struggling with their results.
All workshops are run by myself Jodie Westall Kimpton I am a professional Artist and Watercolour Tutor and Gallery owner, I have been painting and designing for over 30 years. Watercolour is my favourite medium – it is my daily meditation, my joy, it has been my therapy many times over and is the quiet place where my heart finds clarity when life gets too noisy. The simple practice of loosing myself in my painting is very rejuvenating – I look forward to sharing my art journey and night with you.
No experience required – open to all ages over 16.
