Silver is one of the most popular metals used in jewellery design, and it is typically found in two forms: silverplate and solid sterling silver. Silverplate consists of another metal that has been electroplated with a layer of silver. Sterling silver is an alloy made up of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent of another metal, usually copper.
